Yesterday I went for a brisk walk after work. I had hoped to some degree I could get myself to run, but something in my head restrained me from moving faster than a power walk.
Part of this may have been my need to stop and take pictures.
However, I am starting a good habit, and I know from past experiences that the first few days are easy, but by next week my traitorous brain will start proposing reasons why I should eat ice cream and occupy the couch instead of going out for a walk.
Perhaps because I was busy at work the whole day, I spent nearly all of my 8 hour shift standing, so when I went for my walk my back and feet were sore. I still pushed on for a walk, and even went for 40 minutes instead of 30 to make up for my desire to stop and take pictures.
Even though my back hurt, the walk helped loosen me up and I'm sure it was nothing but good for me.
I'd never been on this trail before!
I came to a fork in the road. I picked the downhill slope, because I knew I'd have to walk back up the hill on the way back!
Prairie dog!
Today is another 8 hour work day, and at the moment I'm not sure if I want to go for another hike or if I should go home and try working on my core. The best way to stop getting back pains is to build up your abdominal muscles, or at least so I've been told.
I shall report on tonight's progress tonight or tomorrow!
It was a windy day, and I took this while walking. It will be nice to have a start and end photo to compare to!
